Must-Have Camping Gear for the Best Camping Trip Experience

Posted on 2021-04-09 by Toni Payne

Camping is one of the best experiences for outdoor fans, but having the ideal gear is essential. Unlike other vacations where you can run to a local store and pick up something you don’t have, you’re completely dependent on your packing skills when you’re in the backcountry. So, bringing the right camping gear will elevate your experience of camping. One thing for sure is that you should bring a Leisure Co compact pillow and a sleeping bag. This camping gear list contains all the essentials you need for a safe and comfortable experience, in no particular order.

Camping Items

Tent and Chair

You need a place to set up when night falls. If you don’t want to sleep under the stars and deal with the components coming your way, a kayak is a must. It needs to be easy to set up and takedown. And there’s no one-size-fits-all tent – you’ll need to think about the number of beds and whether you want it to be a three- or four-season tent. Relaxing around the campfire is great if you sit on a chair and not on the ground. Look for ones that are small for easy transport but turn into a cozy seat in no time.

Compact Camping Pillow and Sleeping Bag

As mentioned, to elevate your experience, you should provide yourself with a quality and comfortable sleeping set. It would be best if you had a sleeping bag and compact camping pillow. Although the tent provides shelter, the sleeping bag is the “mattress” when you’re outdoors. Without it, you will have a cold and uncomfortable night. There are also different sizes and types, such as square, mummy or woven, and you must also consider the insulating material: synthetic fiber or down. Make sure it is compact and lightweight for the camping pillow so it won’t make any hassle for your trip.

Flashlight and Camping Stove

After the sun goes down, it’s nice to have light in the tent. It doesn’t matter if it’s a headlamp or a portable flashlight, the important thing is to be able to illuminate your surroundings. Lighting is great for your safety, dinner prep, firewood gathering, and more. Furthermore, you will need to heat water, reheat meals or cook raw food. There are many alternatives to choose from, such as hoop stoves, wood stoves, solid-gas stoves and liquefied gas stoves. A skid stove is best if you’re concerned about space and the ability to cook or boil quickly.

Survival Kit and Water Purifier

Among the things not to forget is a small survival kit. It should contain the essentials you need to survive, such as a camping survival knife, compass, cell phone, and medical gear. You can find factory-made survival kits, or you can make your own custom survival kit. You also need to bring a water purifier. It is as the dangers of drinking raw water are well recorded and the most peaceful of mountain getaways can harbor several pathogens. When there are many methods to take care of water, many campers find that a portable water purifier is a best and most suitable alternative. One purifier for every two people should be sufficient.

Mess Kit

Every camper needs one to prepare, cook and serve meals. A normal junk kit may consist of 2 types of cutlery, a couple of pots and pans, a couple of cups, and plates. There are many versions of junk kits, so create a package based on what you need. Also, you need to consider the type of food you will be preparing when you equip it. Many of the business …
